Arson Attack Ravages Hailsham Town Football Club Grounds
£35,000 Blaze Hits Football Club
Sussex Police are hunting witnesses after a deliberate fire tore through Hailsham Town Football Club’s recreation ground on Western Road. On Tuesday night, around 7pm, conifer trees near the stand were set ablaze, causing £35,000 worth of damage.
The flames, believed to be sparked by arsonists, caused serious destruction. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.
Police Urge Locals to Come Forward
PC Luke Ceschin, leading the probe, stressed the need for community help. “We believe several people were in the area at the time the fire started, and fortunately, no one was injured,” he said.
Officers are keen to review any relevant footage, especially dash cam videos from vehicles passing through the scene around the time of the fire.
