Huge Fire Destroys Sutton Accident Repair Centre
Twelve fire engines and around 80 firefighters scrambled to tackle a massive blaze at the Coombe accident repair centre on Sandiford Road, Sutton.
Fire Rips Through Industrial Unit
The single-storey workshop was already engulfed in flames when crews arrived. Firefighters faced extra danger due to gas cylinders and large quantities of paint thinners inside the building.
Brigade Brings Fire Under Control
The fire service was called at 11:39pm and managed to bring the blaze under control by 2:40am. Units from Sutton, Wimbledon, New Malden, and nearby areas joined the emergency response.
Investigation Underway
Officials have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire that devastated the well-known local repair centre.
