M25 Set for Massive Weekend Shutdown in June

National Highways has revealed a partial closure of the M25 motorway over a full weekend this June. The westbound stretch between Junction 9 (Leatherhead) and Junction 10 (Wisley) will shut from the night of Saturday, June 8 through Sunday, June 9. Cobham Services will also be affected.

Eastbound Lane Closure Adds to Travel Chaos

On top of that, the eastbound carriageway at Junction 10 will be closed too, causing more disruption for drivers trying to navigate this busy stretch near the A3.

Why the Shutdown?

This weekend-long closure is to install a new 123 route designed to ease traffic flow and minimise disruption during the works. It forms part of ongoing improvements on the M25, aimed at upgrading the infrastructure and boosting road safety for all motorists.

Similar closures happened in May for bridge installations, so drivers should expect delays to continue.

Drivers Urged to Plan Ahead

  • Follow official diversion routes from National Highways.
  • Avoid relying on sat-navs which could send you down unsuitable roads.
  • Expect heavy traffic and plan your journey accordingly.
