Emergency services are dealing with a collision on the M4 near Swindon which has left two lanes closed and caused delays for Sunday morning motorists. The crash happened on the westbound M4 between Junction 14 for Hungerford and Junction 15 for Swindon at around 6.30am today, Sunday, August 9. Wiltshire Police attended alongside other emergency services, while National Highways is managing the traffic restrictions. Police said nobody is currently believed to have suffered significant injuries in the collision.
Two lanes remain closed
As of around 8.30am, one lane had reopened past the scene, although lanes one and two remained closed. The restrictions are causing delays for motorists approaching the incident on the westbound carriageway. Drivers heading towards Swindon and the surrounding area should allow additional time for their journeys while emergency services continue working at the scene. The circumstances surrounding the collision have not yet been confirmed.
