Massive Blaze Tears Through NME Nightclub in Eastbourne

A huge fire erupted tonight at the NME Nightclub on Terminus Road, Eastbourne, with flames raging in the roof space. Thick smoke billowed into the sky as emergency crews raced to the scene.

Firefighters Battle Flames with Full Force

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) has deployed six fire engines, including a towering aerial ladder platform. Firefighters in breathing apparatus are working flat out to tackle the inferno, fighting to prevent the blaze from spreading further.

Sussex Police have joined the effort, sealing off Terminus Road from Bolton Road and urging locals to steer clear while emergency teams carry out their work.

No Injuries Reported So Far

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported at this stage. Witnesses described the scene as “intense” with thick smoke pouring from the building’s roof while fire crews battled the blaze.

“Our crews are working hard to bring the fire under control. We are collaborating with Sussex Police to manage road closures and keep the public safe,” an ESFRS spokesperson said.

Investigation to Follow as Residents Warned

The fire’s cause remains a mystery. Once the flames are out, fire officers will launch a thorough investigation. Nearby residents and businesses have been advised to keep doors and windows shut to avoid smoke inhalation.
