Massive Methil Harbour Blaze Sends Black Smoke Streaming Across Fife
A huge fire tore through a yard near Methil Harbour early this morning, engulfing several lorries and pushing thick black smoke high into the air.
Firefighters Rush to Tackle Inferno
Emergency crews were scrambled just after 9.20am following reports of a massive blaze involving multiple heavy goods vehicles. Eyewitnesses described fierce flames swallowing several lorries as firefighters battled the fire.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 9.11am to reports of a fire affecting multiple heavy goods vehicles and trailers near Methil Harbour. Seven fire appliances were mobilised and crews are working hard to extinguish the blaze.”
No Injuries as Residents Warned Over Smoke
Thankfully, no one was hurt. Police Scotland confirmed: “The fire is contained and there are no reported injuries. The area between Harbour View and South Street has reopened but residents nearby are urged to keep windows and doors closed due to the smoke.”
Firefighters remain on site as investigations into the cause of the fire continue.
