Massive Blaze Destroys Workshop in Fiery Inferno
Firefighters battled a huge blaze that completely gutted a single-storey commercial workshop. The building, measuring 75 by 20 metres, was 100% damaged, with a nearby second building suffering about 25% damage.
Full Force Fire Response
At peak chaos, 11 fire engines rocked up, including squads from Gerrards Cross, Langley, Slough, Beaconsfield, Hillingdon, Windsor, Tinkers Lane, Hayes, and Heathrow. Crews deployed four main jets and an aerial appliance to contain the flames.
Support teams included a Control Unit, six fire officers, and Thames Valley Police’s thermal imaging drone, all working seamlessly together. South Central Ambulance Service stood by, but luckily, there were no injuries.
Long Night for Firefighters
The intense operation began winding down after 11.20pm. Four fire crews stayed on site with a turntable ladder, while one appliance lingered until 8am, using thermal imaging cameras and hose reels to hunt and douse stubborn hotspots. Firefighters continued thorough reinspection on Friday morning to make sure no embers were left smouldering.
Investigation Underway
The site was finally handed back at around 1pm the next day. Meanwhile, fire investigators have launched a probe to discover what sparked the devastating blaze.
