Police Chase Ends in Multiple Crashes

Sussex Police are on the lookout for witnesses after a white Vauxhall Astra van caused chaos near Holmbush Roundabout on Wednesday, February 28. The drama started just before 5pm when officers tried to pull over the van on Mile Oak Road, Portslade. But the driver floored it, refusing to stop.

The high-speed evasion ended with a bang, as the van smashed into a grey Jeep Avenger and a red Ford Kuga at the Upper Kingston Lane junction.

Van Found, Drivers Safe – Investigation Underway

Police have since tracked down the suspect van and checked in with those involved in the crashes to make sure they’re alright. Sergeant Steve Lambeth from the Roads Policing Unit said:

“We appreciate the impact these collisions have had on the drivers, and we are investigating the circumstances.”

Can You Help? Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to step up, especially those with dashcam, doorbell, CCTV, or mobile phone footage from the area.

Sergeant Lambeth added: “We are appealing for witnesses to the incidents or anyone with information about the driver of the white van to come forward.”
