Rail chaos hits Portsmouth this holiday weekend! Every train line in the Portsmouth area will be CLOSED all day, every day, for major maintenance and renewal work. Expect serious disruption from Saturday through Monday.

Saturday Madness: Buses Replace Trains

  • Fast trains between London Waterloo and Portsmouth via Haslemere scrapped. Buses will replace services between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour, with some making extra stops between Haslemere and Havant.
  • Stopping trains will run only between London Waterloo and Haslemere, linking up with the altered fast services.
  • Trains to and from Portsmouth via Cosham are replaced by buses from Fareham to Portsmouth Harbour.

More Disruption on Sunday & Monday

  • Sunday sees buses replace services between London Waterloo and Portsmouth via Haslemere (Havant to Portsmouth Harbour).
  • Trains from Portsmouth to London via Fareham and Eastleigh, plus South West Trains from Portsmouth to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton, will reroute through Havant.
  • Connecting buses will run between Cosham and Portsmouth Harbour.
  • On Monday, the pattern repeats with fast services replaced by buses between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour, and stopping trains running London Waterloo to Haslemere.
  • Trains via Eastleigh and Fareham replaced by buses from Fareham to Portsmouth Harbour, while South West Trains from Southampton to Portsmouth divert through Havant.
