Tragic Crash on M6 Claims Lives of Toddler and Elderly Man
A heart-breaking collision on the M6 in Lancashire has left a three-year-old girl and a 79-year-old man dead. The smash happened yesterday evening on the southbound carriageway between junctions 29 and 28.
Two Cars Collide in Horrific Accident
Police say a Porsche Boxster, driven by the 79-year-old, crashed into a Vauxhall Meriva carrying the young girl. Two adults in the Meriva suffered serious injuries and were rushed to Royal Preston Hospital.
Motorway Shut for Hours as Police Launch Investigation
The M6 was closed for several hours for police to probe the crash and carry out repairs. Lancashire Police’s Sgt Craig Booth described the scene as “horrific” and thanked emergency crews for their dedication.
“These are very sad and tragic circumstances. This was a traumatic scene for all witnesses and emergency services involved,” Sgt Booth said. “We want to hear from any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage.”
