Stunning New Mural Brings Enfield’s Diversity to Life at Dugdale Arts Centre

Community-Powered Artwork Unveiled

A vibrant new mural inspired by Enfield’s diverse local community has been officially unveiled at Dugdale Arts Centre (DAC). London artist Alec Saunders created the eye-catching piece using unwanted paint donated by residents through North London Waste Authority’s recycling centres, blending creativity with eco-friendly innovation.

Celebrating Enfield’s Rich Cultural Tapestry

The mural brightens a tiered seating area inside DAC, showcasing the borough’s rich cultural heritage and colourful communities. It captures the unique identities and histories that make Enfield truly one of a kind.

More Than Just a Mural

This revamped space is a buzzing hub for children’s events, arts and crafts workshops, film screenings, and live performances. The bold design now serves as the perfect backdrop, injecting energy and pride into every event held there.

Artist’s Vision: Pride, Connection & Sustainability

“This piece is a tribute to the people of Enfield,” Saunders said. “It’s designed to spark connection, dialogue, and pride in the local area.” By using repurposed paint, the mural also sends a strong eco-friendly message, showing how recycled materials can fuel artistic innovation.

Visitors can see the mural in person at Dugdale Arts Centre, 39 London Road, Enfield (EN2 6DS). Plan your visit here.
