Driver arrested for Drugs after Police chase in Farnbrough

A driver involved in a police chase has been arrested and is in custody for drug offences we can reveal. Following a car chase and the driver lost control and ploughed into a lamp stand in Farnborough. The man had to be cut free by fire crews from two crews from Hampshire fire and rescue stationed at Rushmoor following the short Police chase. Hampshire Police said it tried to carry out a stop check on a Honda Civic at 10.40pm on Tuesday (May 30) but that the car failed to stop.

“A short time later the same vehicle was found in Government House Road, Farnborough, having collided with a bollard,” said a police spokeswoman. “The male driver of the vehicle had to be cut free from the car by our colleagues from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The driver was checked over by paramedics taken to Frimley Park hospital and was later arrested by Police. The drivers was not seriously injured following the crash. Crew manager Steve Fox of Rushmoor fire station said two engines were called to reports of a person trapped following a collision in Government House Road at 10.44pm. “The driver was travelling down Government House Road when he hit a bollard, which uprooted the bollard and spun his car 180 degrees causing the driver’s side to hit a lamppost.   A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “At 10.45pm last night we responded with an ambulance to a collision between a car and lamppost. “A man was taken to Frimley Park Hospital with head and leg injuries for treatment and further assessment.”
