Car Goes Up in Flames on Isle of Wight Road
A car blaze has sparked chaos on the Isle of Wight tonight, forcing road closures and bus diversions. The fire broke out near The Woodmans Arms on Station Road, Wootton.
Buses Diverted Amid Flames
All Route 9 buses have been rerouted via Fairlee until further notice, Southern Vectis confirmed. Commuters are advised to expect delays.
Firefighters Race to Scene
Fire crews from Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue at Newport rushed to the scene to tackle the blaze. Hampshire Police are also on-site investigating.
The 2012 black VW Golf caught fire internally and was quickly engulfed. Firefighters used a single hose reel to douse the flames.
The car was completely gutted, but thankfully, the driver escaped unharmed and raised the alarm.
