Hunt on for man after sexual assault at Walthamstow Bus Station

Detectives have released a photo of a man wanted in connection with a sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman in Walthamstow.

Victim met suspect online before horrific attack

The victim had arranged to meet the suspect – someone she met online – on Sunday, 12 November at 8:30pm outside Walthamstow Bus Station. Both brought friends along, but the friends left shortly after the pair met.

Attack unfolded in nearby park

After the friends left, the suspect grabbed the woman’s arm and led her into a nearby park. They stopped at a bench by the playground, where the suspect forced her to sit and then sexually assaulted her. The victim told the man to stop and fled back towards the bus station. The suspect followed briefly before retreating into the park.

The victim never saw him again but later received chilling messages from the suspect saying he was sending a friend to “get her.”

Police appeal for help to find suspect

Detective Constable Matthew Cron said: “We continue to actively search for this suspect and hope that someone may recognise him.”

If you recognise this man, contact police immediately on 101 quoting CAD 7666/12NOV17 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
