Teen Trapped in Tidal Mud Rescued by Isle of Wight Fire Crews

Firefighters from Newport on the Isle of Wight launched a daring rescue after a 15-year-old boy got stuck in tidal mud at the Medina Valley Centre on Friday evening.

Emergency Call Sparks Swift Response

Two fire engines and the technical rescue unit rushed to the scene following an urgent call for help. The teenager was trapped and unable to free himself from the sticky trap.

Team Effort from Firefighters and Coastguard

Fire crews teamed up with officers from the Island Coastguard Rescue Team, based at Needles and Ventnor, to launch the rescue operation. Paramedics from the Island ambulance service arrived just after 9.30pm.

Wearing mud rescue suits, firefighters used an inflatable mud path to reach and free the trapped teen safely.

Teen Hospitalised After Muddy Ordeal

The boy was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for a check-up. It remains unclear how he ended up stuck in the mud. Thankfully, no one else was involved in the incident.
