Brutal Assault Shocks Community
A 56-year-old man has been charged after attacking a police officer in Leyton. Muhammed Rodwan, from Villiers Close, faces attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon charges following the incident on the evening of Thursday, 8 August.
Officer in Serious but Stable Condition
The 28-year-old officer remains hospitalised with serious injuries, though they are not believed to be life-threatening. The brave copper’s family has been informed and is receiving support from Metropolitan Police family liaison officers.

Rodwan is set to appear at 1 Magistrates’ Court the following morning, Friday, 9 August, as police continue their investigation into the shocking attack.
