Man in Maskless Coronavirus Spit Attack on Kent Cop

Sonny Manville, 19, faces serious assault charges after allegedly spitting in a Kent police officer’s face and claiming he had coronavirus. The shocking incident happened in Bull Lane, Newington, just after 11pm on Monday, May 4, 2020.

Spit and Kick in Late-Night Police Confrontation

Officers were called to the scene after reports of suspicious behaviour. When stopped, Manville reportedly said he had COVID-19 before kicking an officer and spitting at another.

Crown Prosecution OKs Assault Charges

The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised charges against Manville, who is from Top Dartford Road, Swanley. He faces obstructing a police officer and two counts of assaulting an emergency services worker.

Offender Bailed Amid Ongoing Police Probe

Manville appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 6, and was released on bail. He is due back in court on Friday, June 26.
