Paedophile James Jewell Locked Up for Life
A twisted child sex offender who forced two women to abuse kids has been jailed for life.
James Jewell’s Sick Crimes
James Jewell, 36, from Brymer Road, Tunbridge Wells, was handed a life sentence after a string of vile offences. Back in February, he pleaded guilty to:
- Six counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity
- Four counts of taking indecent photos of a child
- Three counts of distributing indecent photos of a child
How the Abuse Came to Light
The horror emerged on 20 July 2018 when a friend found disturbing videos on a woman’s phone showing her abusing a child. The woman had shared these videos with Jewell via an instant messaging app.
A second woman linked to Jewell was arrested on 22 August 2018 and later charged in February 2020.
Life Behind Bars – Minimum Six Years Before Parole
Jewell was sentenced to life, with a minimum of six years and eight months behind bars before parole can be considered.
“Jewell is a dangerous man who coerced these women to carry out this abuse for his own gratification,” said Detective Constable Karl Brett. “He convinced them to commit these horrific crimes against young children. The trauma caused cannot be underestimated.”
Detectives urge anyone worried about similar abuse to contact Kent Police immediately so children can be protected.
