Man Stabbed to Death in Wembley Flat
A murder probe is underway after a man in his 60s was fatally stabbed in a Wembley block of flats.
Police were called to Priestley House on Barnhill Road at 10.07am on Saturday, 12 September, following reports of a stabbing. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds.
Suspect Barricades Himself Before Arrest
Officers rushed to the scene and gave first aid while paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance tried to save him. Sadly, the man was declared dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the suspect, a 45-year-old man believed to be known to the victim, locked himself inside a property nearby. After tense negotiations, he refused to cooperate and was tasered before being arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.
Neighbours Reported Earlier Incident at Same Address
Earlier that day, at 6.53am, police and firefighters responded to the same building due to a noise complaint and a smoke alarm activation. Officers spoke to a man at the property before leaving without incident.
Because of this prior attendance, the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been notified.
Investigation Ongoing
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the murder inquiry. Next of kin are being traced and informed.
