Watch Out! Scam Parcel Emails Are On The Rise
With more of us shopping online and expecting parcels, scammers are cashing in big time. Fake emails and texts pretending to be from Royal Mail or courier firms are flooding inboxes. They claim a delivery failed because no one was home or there was nowhere safe to leave your package.
Beware – these messages urge you to click a link to reschedule the delivery. But that link leads to a convincing-looking fake website. Once there, you’re asked for your full name, address, date of birth, and mobile number.
How The Scammers Hook You
After filling in your details, the site asks for your bank or credit card info. Hand that over and the thieves will drain your account before you know it.
Keep Your Details Safe – Don’t Click Links!
Remember: never click links in unexpected parcel emails or texts. Scammers might have your contact info, but they usually don’t know your identity or address.
Spot The Fakes – Look Out For Red Flags
A genuine courier or Royal Mail email won’t come from a personal email account. One fraudster recently emailed claiming to be from DPD – but used his own private email. Luckily, the recipient was wise to the scam.
