Teen Brutally Assaulted Near CEX in Friar Street

A 17-year-old boy was viciously attacked after being separated from friends outside the CEX shop on Friar Street at around 9pm on Sunday, December 13.

Two males approached the group, and one dragged the victim to nearby Victoria Park. There, the teenager was savagely headbutted, punched, kicked, and stamped on in a terrifying assault.

Serious Injuries and Theft

The victim suffered severe injuries to his eye, face, and arm. He was rushed to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.

A small amount of cash and a bus ticket were stolen during the attack.

Suspects Arrested But Only One Remains on Bail

Police initially arrested a 15-year-old boy from Wokingham on December 14 on suspicion of robbery, but no further action was taken against him.

Following a public appeal, another 15-year-old from Reading was arrested on January 5 and is now on police bail until February 2.
