Man Dies in Horror M40 Crash – Police Hunt Witnesses

A 30-year-old man from Kent has died following a smash on the M40 early today (5 March). Thames Valley Police are urgently appealing for witnesses.

Collision Details and Arrest

Officers rushed to the scene just after 6.10am after reports of a crash between a beige Nissan Qashqai and a white Tesla Model 3 on the northbound M40 between junctions 8A and 9.

Tragically, the man died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody.

Police Issue Urgent Appeal

Inspector Gavin Biggs said: “The thoughts of all of Thames Valley Police are with the family at this very sad time.

“I am appealing to anyone who was driving on the M40 between 6am and 6.15am this morning and witnessed the collision to come forward.

Please check dash-cam footage from that time and contact us if you captured anything that can help our investigation.”

Road Closures and Diversions

The M40 northbound remains closed and is expected to stay shut until at least mid-afternoon.

Drivers are being diverted off the M40 at junction 8 onto the A40, heading to the Ring Road. Northbound traffic can rejoin at junction 9 via the A34.
