Tragic Death of Young Boy in Cardiff Treated as Murder

Reid Steele died on Thursday afternoon at University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. Police found the young boy at a house in the Welsh town and are treating his death as murder.

Woman Arrested and Detained Under Mental Health Act

A 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murdering Reid. She has since been moved to health services and is detained under the Mental Health Act.

Family Pays Heartbreaking Tribute

Reid’s family described him as a “super happy, gorgeous, wonderful and intelligent” child who “lit up everyone’s lives.” They said:

“He loved the garden and the beach, picking raspberries and going for walks collecting shells. He was a very chatty little boy and would happily speak to anyone.”

Police Appeal for Respect and No Rumours

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Davies called the case “very sad and tragic” and urged the public to avoid speculation on social media. He added:

“The family continue to be supported by dedicated family liaison officers. My thoughts remain with the family.”

Police confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the case.
