Cyclist Dies in Horror Crash with HGV
Tragedy struck at 3.18pm on Wednesday, 25 August, when police were called to a collision between a cyclist and a heavy goods vehicle.
Victim Pronounced Dead at Scene
Emergency crews, including officers and paramedics from the Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene. Sadly, the cyclist suffered very serious injuries and was pronounced dead on site. Next of kin have not yet been informed.
Driver Cooperating as Investigation Continues
The HGV driver stayed at the scene and has spoken with police. Enquiries are ongoing, and no arrests have been made so far.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
Officers urge anyone who was nearby and witnessed the crash to call 101, quoting reference 4218/25AUG. They are especially keen to see any dash cam or video footage that may have captured the incident.
