Luton Terrorist Caged for Sharing Gruesome Daesh Beheading Videos

Anderson Busted for Spreading Islamic State Propaganda

Ibrahim Anderson, 44, from Luton, Bedfordshire, was arrested in October 2020 after he shared chilling Daesh execution videos and extremist propaganda online. Police discovered even more terror material when searching his home and devices.

Eight Years Locked Up at the Old Bailey

On 11 September, Anderson was sentenced to eight years in prison for 15 terrorism offences. He was slammed with a Serious Crime Prevention Order (SCPO) lasting five years upon release.

Secret Email, Terror Videos and Facebook Page Exposed

  • In June and July 2020, Anderson sent graphic Daesh beheading videos via email to a third party.
  • He set up a Facebook page promoting Daesh’s aims.
  • The email account used hadn’t been declared to police, breaching his previous prison release conditions.

Back in 2016, Anderson was jailed for a separate terror offence and was legally required to declare all email addresses. His October 2020 arrest was carried out by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command with help from the Eastern Region Specialist Operations Unit.

Guilty Plea and Police Warning

Appearing via video link at the Old Bailey on 7 April 2021, Anderson pleaded guilty to:

  • One count of breaching notification requirements under the Counter-Terrorism Act 2008
  • Ten counts of disseminating terrorist publications under the Terrorism Act 2006
  • Four counts of possessing terrorist information under the Terrorism Act 2000

Detective Chief Superintendent James Harman, Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, said: “Anderson freely shared extreme Islamist propaganda online, depicting graphic terrorist violence. I have no doubt that Anderson poses a considerable risk to the public, and people are safer now that he is behind bars.”
