Shock as Police Hunt Man Seen Near Scene of Sabina’s Murder

Detectives have released CCTV images of a man spotted in Pegler Square, SE3, on the evening Sabina was brutally attacked. The mystery man was caught on camera in the area where the tragic killing took place.

Silver Car Linked to Suspect

Alongside the man’s image, police have revealed a photo of a silver vehicle believed to be connected to him. The car was also spotted near Pegler Square.

Officers are urgently appealing for anyone who recognises the man or the car to come forward immediately.

Detective Pleads for Public’s Help

“Our team have been working tirelessly to find the person responsible for Sabina’s murder,” said Detective Chief Inspector Neil John of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. “We ask anyone in Kidbrooke, Lewisham, and Greenwich to look carefully at these images. If you know who this man is or have seen him recently, get in touch. Your information could be crucial.”

He also urged the public to share the images widely to reach as many eyes as possible.

Second Arrest Made in Murder Probe

In a dramatic development, police arrested a 38-year-old man at a Lewisham address on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as inquiries continue.

Sabina, 18, left her Astell Road home shortly before 8.30pm on Friday, 17 September, heading through Cator Park towards The Depot bar in Pegler Square where she was due to meet a friend. She never made it to the pub and is believed to have been killed while walking through the park.

Her body was found near the OneSpace community centre in the park the following day around 5.30pm. A post-mortem on 20 September was inconclusive.
