Sex Beast Jailed for 21 Years After Raping Two Women in Hampshire
A 34-year-old man has been locked up for 21 years for raping a teenage girl and sexually assaulting another woman in separate horror attacks.
Marlon Nelson’s Night of Terror
Marlon Nelson, 34, with no fixed address, struck after a night out in Calmore. He offered a lift home to a 17-year-old girl on November 11, 2014. Instead of dropping her off, he dragged her to Testwood Recreational Ground and raped her in his car.
Another Victim, Another Attack
Three years later, in November 2017, Nelson committed a second vile crime. He raped and sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman from Romsey at Ampfield Recreational Ground. Both assaults left the victims shattered.
Justice Served at Southampton Crown Court
After a gruelling seven-day trial starting in July, jurors found Nelson guilty of two counts of rape, one count of sexual assault, and one count of digital penetration.
On October 4, the judge sentenced Nelson to 21 years behind bars. He was also slapped with a lifetime requirement to sign the sex offenders register.
Police Praise Victims’ Courage
“These were horrendous attacks on young women who trusted Nelson,” said Detective Constable Lisa Robins.
“We commend their bravery facing such a lengthy trial. Rape is one of the worst crimes, and we’re pleased justice has been served.”
Both officers stressed Hampshire Constabulary’s commitment to supporting survivors and hunting down offenders.
