Reckless Driver Speeds Off with Baby Inside After Police Stop
Aisa Khan Sampson-Spencer, 29, with no fixed address, faces a string of serious charges after a chaotic police chase in Ilford.
Charged with Multiple Offences
On Wednesday, 27 October, Sampson-Spencer was charged with:
- Dangerous driving
- Aggravated vehicle taking
- Criminal damage
- Fraudulent use of a registration mark
- Driving without insurance
- Failing to stop after a collision
He is set to appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 28 October.
Babies and Bangers: The Incident Unfolded
At 7.16pm on Thursday, 29 April, police spotted a car parked on Eastern Avenue, Ilford, sporting false number plates. Inside was a baby.
When an officer approached to question the driver, the vehicle suddenly reversed, hitting the police car, mounted the pavement, and fled.
The driver then sped west on the eastbound A12 Eastern Avenue — straight into oncoming traffic.
Police later tracked down and located the erratic vehicle and its driver.
