Monster On The Loose: Hugo Delgado Jailed for Brutal Hotel Attacks

Hugo Delgado, 22, from Woodford Green, has been slammed with a TEN-year prison sentence for terrifying hotel assaults in Shoreditch. The vile offender was found guilty of assault by penetration, sexual assault, and trespassing with intent, following a trial this summer.

Chilling Attacks in Shoreditch Hotel

On the night of 6 October 2019, Delgado confronted a woman in her 50s entering a hotel room. Claiming the room was his, he tried to gain access. The woman showed her key card and was told to sort the matter with reception.

Delgado falsely told staff he was the woman’s husband and left his key inside. Staff handed him a key card, which he used to break in hours later at 3am. After 5am, he sexually assaulted the woman while she slept. She woke to find the naked attacker in her room, screamed for him to leave, and he fled in a panic.

Second Victim Targeted After Night Out

Just days later, Delgado stalked a woman in her 20s through Shoreditch at 4.45am. She lost consciousness and awoke in a hotel room to find him assaulting her.

Police caught Delgado red-handed in the hotel room later that morning. Scrutiny revealed he had tried to grab two hotel keys earlier—one given for the wrong room, the other unoccupied.

Justice Served: Lengthy Jail & Lifetime Registration

Delgado will serve 10 years behind bars, followed by four years on licence, and must register as a sex offender for life. The Met’s Sapphire Unit led the investigation, ensuring the predatory attacker is off the streets.

Judge said: “Your actions have caused long-lasting harm to your victims. The sentence reflects the seriousness of your crimes.”
