Serious Threat Sparks Chaos at Shrewsbury Flower Show

Emergency services are on high alert at The Quarry in Shrewsbury after an anonymous call warned of a serious threat at the site of the bustling Shrewsbury Flower Show.

Emergency Teams Rush to Scene

Three paramedic officers and the Hazardous Area Response Team have been dispatched to the scene. West Mercia Police swiftly established a cordon and began evacuating parts of the park as a safety measure.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman warned: “Please avoid the area at present and follow the advice from police officers at the scene.”

Fireworks Cancelled, Visitors Urged to Stay Calm

The popular evening firework display has been cancelled for safety reasons. Superintendent Damian Pettit addressed worried visitors, stating:

“I know the Shrewsbury Flower Show draws large crowds, especially with today’s lovely weather. This threat may be alarming, but we urge everyone to stay calm and follow police instructions. Your safety is our priority.”

“Thank you to all visitors who have cooperated—it helps us manage situations like this. We’re still assessing the threat and will provide updates via our social media channels and website.”
