Man Murdered in Busy Essex Pub – Arrest Made
Tragedy struck inside the Lamb and Lion pub on Station Road last Friday evening. Police rushed to the scene at around 6.40pm on 23 December after reports of a man being assaulted. Despite emergency crews’ frantic efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the pub.
44-Year-Old Man Arrested – Police Hold Suspect
A 44-year-old man was arrested shortly afterwards in the nearby Pier Hill area. He remains in police custody, held on suspicion of murder. Authorities have assured the public that no further risk is believed to exist.
Detective Pleads for Witnesses to Come Forward
“My thoughts and condolences are with the victim’s family in what will be a very difficult time,” said Detective Chief Inspector Louise Metcalfe, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
“The investigation is in its early stages. We are working to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic incident. The victim was attacked inside a busy pub, with many potential witnesses present.”
