Police were called to Move nightclub in Exeter just after midnight on Saturday. Paramedics raised alarm over a teenage girl’s condition. She was rushed to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital – but tragically, she died.
Dangerous Tablets Linked to Multiple Teens
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that several teenagers had taken the same tablets. Detective Chief Inspector Lee Nattrass revealed the force had already identified several young people who admitted using drugs that night.
“We have seen time and time again that these substances can kill,” he said. “And we have another tragic case on our hands.”
Police Urge Anyone Affected to Speak Out
The police are asking anyone caught up in the incident to come forward. They warn that drug tablets sold on the street can be deadly – and no one knows their true contents or the potential reactions.
Parents Warned to Talk to Kids About Drugs
Campaign group Talk To Frank stresses the importance of honest conversations between parents and children about drug risks. The group warns:
“You have no idea what these drugs contain, and you have no idea what reaction you might have; it could be fatal.”
DCI Nattrass added, “I urge anyone thinking about using drugs to think twice and reconsider.”
