A body was recovered from the sea off the coast of the Isle of Wight. The RNLI, was called on Sunday at 4.30 p.m. after the crew of a Brittany Ferry reported seeing a person in the water. A coastguard helicopter and an RNLI lifeboat searched near the main shipping channel south-east of Bembridge. According to the Bembridge RNLI, a woman was recovered on their boat by 7.45pm after being spotted by the helicopter crew. Officers are working to determine the identity of the person and how they ended up in the water,” said Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary. At this time, the death is being treated as unexplained.
