Tragic Mobility Scooter Crash in Northallerton: Police Seek Witnesses
Police are urgently hunting for witnesses after a fatal crash between a mauve Citroen C2 and a mobility scooter in Northallerton.
How It Happened
The smash occurred at 2.20pm on Thursday, 9 March at the busy junction of Valley Road and Greenhowskye Lane. The Citroen, heading from Bullamoor Road, turned right at the mini roundabout into Greenhowskye Lane. Meanwhile, the mobility scooter was travelling the opposite way along Valley Road from Knotto Bottom Way before crossing Greenhowskye Lane.
Victim Dies After Incident
The scooter rider, a man in his 60s, was rushed to hospital after emergency crews treated him at the scene. Sadly, he passed away on Monday, 13 March.
The car’s sole occupant, a woman in her 30s, has since been interviewed by police.
