Bomb disposal experts were scrambled to Long Rocks in Whitstable this afternoon after Kent Police were tipped off about an unexploded World War II bomb.

A sharp-eyed local found the dangerous relic and alerted police, who quickly called in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team from the Royal Logistic Corps’ EOD and Search Regiment.

Area Locked Down as Experts Wait for Tide

The entire zone, stretching from the Promenade to the Skate Park, has been cordoned off. Residents and visitors are urged to steer clear of the area for their own safety.
