The site suffered horrific losses with 10% of its residents killed during the October 7 attacks — roughly 1,400 fatalities according to Israeli officials. Hostage Numbers Rise as Leaders Deliver Stark Messages
Israel disclosed at least 203 hostages currently held in Gaza, exceeding previous counts. Hamas claims to hold 250.
