Ex-Cop Lewis Edwards Guilty of Grooming 200 Girls Online
A former police officer has been exposed in a sickening online grooming scandal. Lewis Edwards, 24, pleaded guilty to coaxing 200 girls aged 10 to 16 into sending explicit images while pretending to be a teen on Snapchat. The creep even used his police background to threaten victims and trap them in a web of abuse.
Police Constable Turned Child Exploiter
Edwards joined the police force in January 2021. But behind the badge, between November 2020 and February 2023, he ran fake Snapchat accounts targeting young girls. The court heard he collected over 4,500 indecent images across his devices. After his arrest, a misconduct hearing booted him from the force.
Horrific Threats and Coercion Revealed in Court
The vile officer threatened victims with publishing their images or harming their families if they refused his demands. Prosecutor Roger Griffiths blasted Edwards for bullying girls with messages like, “Good girl, but get that top off. If you try and waste time, I will share everything. I’m waiting. Don’t reply unless it’s a video.”
“I was terrified, hurt, and let down. I will never get over this trauma,” one 13-year-old victim told the court.
The court also heard how Edwards terrorised victims late at night, reminding them others who resisted had taken their own lives.
