Superintendent Guy Elkins of Wiltshire Police said, “We will not hesitate to deal robustly with anyone suspected of such a crime directed at police officers in the course of their duty. Such behaviour is entirely unacceptable, and we will ensure that such offenders are identified and face the full force of the law.”

He added, “I would like to thank members of the public for their support in identifying the suspect in this case.”
