Sheffield Tradesman Jailed for Sex Assault on Young Girl
Sheffield is reeling after Ako Hussain Pur, 32, was locked up for seven years for sexually assaulting a child under 13. The tradesman used his job at a residential property to carry out the vile attack.
Exploitation Behind Closed Doors
The shocking abuse happened in 2023 while Pur was working with colleagues at the property. Exploiting his position, he forced the young victim into silence with threats. When the girl’s father confronted him, Pur flatly denied all allegations.
Justice Served at Sheffield Crown Court
On January 5, Pur faced Sheffield Crown Court where the jury found him guilty of sexual assault by penetration. Alongside his prison sentence, he’s slapped with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and must sign the sex offenders’ register for life.
Judge Slams Lies, Victim’s Safety Breached
Judge Reed slammed Pur for his constant lies but praised the jury for seeing through his deception. “The victim should have felt safe in her own home,” the judge said. “The family placed trust in Pur while he worked in their house – a trust he utterly betrayed.”
Support Offered Amid Lasting Damage
Amy Blakey, speaking on behalf of child protection, warned of the “often irreversible and long-term effects” such abuse inflicts on children. Yet she remains hopeful that with proper care, the victim can recover and lead a happy life.
