Woman Charged After Alleged Hit-and-Run on Asda Security Guard

A woman has appeared before magistrates after an Asda security guard was allegedly mown down in a hit-and-run following a significant brawl in a car park.

The incident unfolded outside a supermarket in Wallsend, Newcastle, on Thursday and was captured on camera, showcasing the intensity of the altercation.

Northumbria Police have confirmed that a 36-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the alleged disturbance. She appeared before Newcastle magistrates and has been remanded in custody pending her next court appearance.

Emergency services responded to the scene where a group of people had reportedly engaged in a verbal dispute. The victim, an Asda security guard, sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, he has since been discharged.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police stated: “Shortly after 1.15pm on Thursday (February 8), we received a report of a disturbance in the car park of a premises on Hadrian Road in Wallsend.

The incident has sparked widespread concern, highlighting the importance of maintaining safety and order in public spaces.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with inquiries.
