Eastbourne ATM Scam: Police Hunt Two Suspects After £1,000 Stolen
Police in Eastbourne are urgently seeking two people linked to a distraction theft at an ATM in Langney Shopping Centre. The incident happened between 2pm and 2:30pm on 10 June.
Elderly Victim Duped at Cashpoint
An 84-year-old man was using the ATM when a stranger told him he’d dropped cash nearby. As the pensioner bent down to pick up the “dropped” notes, his bank card was snatched from the machine. Later that day, nearly £1,000 was fraudulently spent on the victim’s card.
Sussex Police Release Images, Plead for Help
Sussex Police have now released photos of two suspects believed to be involved. Officers are appealing to the public to help identify them. A spokesperson said:
