Police in Eastbourne are keen to speak to two individuals in connection with a distraction theft at an ATM in Langney. The incident occurred inside the Langney shopping centre between 2:00pm and 2:30pm on 10 June.

An 84-year-old man was using the ATM when an unknown person informed him that he had dropped some of his cash. As the elderly man bent down to retrieve the supposed fallen money, his bank card was removed from the machine.

Later that same day, nearly £1000 was fraudulently used against the victim’s bank card. This significant loss has prompted a swift investigation by local authorities.
