Fiery Chaos on M20 as Lorry Trailer Goes Up in Flames
The M20 Eastbound was shut down last night after a lorry trailer burst into flames between Junctions 10A and 11. The blaze erupted at around 9 PM, but quick-thinking driver managed to detach the cab before flames engulfed the trailer.
Firefighters Race to Tackle Fierce Blaze
Kent Fire and Rescue Service scrambled two fire engines and a bulk water carrier to the scene on the coastbound motorway. Equipped with breathing apparatus, crews battled the fire with hose reels and main jets. Thankfully, the inferno was contained to the trailer. Nobody was hurt.
Accidental Fire Shuts Road, Causes Major Traffic Mayhem
The fire is believed to have started by accident. Officials say no further investigation is needed. The M20 was reopened once the flames were out and the site secured. But not before drivers faced major disruption and were urged to find alternative routes.
Fire crews’ speedy response stopped the blaze from spreading and kept everyone safe.
