A man has tragically died after being struck by a car near Wood Green Underground Station on Saturday afternoon.
Police were called to the scene on High Road, N22 at around 4:34pm on Saturday, 12 October, following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene, but despite their best efforts, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been confirmed, and officers are working to inform his next of kin.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
An investigation has been launched, and officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward. Those with information are asked to contact the police on 101 or via Twitter @MetCC, quoting reference CAD 5075/12 Oct.
