A murder investigation is underway following the death of a 61-year-old man at his home in East Grinstead.
Sussex Police" link="linked" id="134532">Sussex Police were called to a property in Paddock Gardens at approximately 7:45 PM on Thursday, December 19, after receiving reports of a domestic incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Jon Gillings, the Senior Investigating Officer, said:
“We are in the early stages of this investigation, and our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones as we seek to establish the exact circumstances of what happened.
“I’d like to reassure the public that this is being treated as an isolated incident involving two people known to each other. There will be an increased police presence in the area as our enquiries continue, and anyone with any information is urged to come forward.”
Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is encouraged to report it online or call 101, quoting Operation Bilbrook.
Police have assured residents that there is no wider threat to the community, though they have increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance.
