Man, 61, Murdered in East Grinstead Home
A brutal murder investigation is underway after a 61-year-old man was found dead at his home in East Grinstead.
Domestic Incident Turns Deadly
Sussex Police were called to a property in Paddock Gardens around 7:45pm on Thursday, December 19, following reports of a domestic incident. Paramedics rushed to the scene but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the address.
His family have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
Woman, 69, Arrested on Murder Suspicion
A 69-year-old East Grinstead woman was arrested and remains in custody as police question her over the murder.
“We are in the early stages of this investigation, and our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones as we seek to establish the exact circumstances of what happened,” said Detective Chief Inspector Jon Gillings.
“This is being treated as an isolated incident between two people known to each other. We have increased police presence in the area and urge anyone with information to come forward.”
Police Step Up Patrols, Urge Public to Speak Out
Despite the tragedy, police stress there is no wider threat to the community. Officers have boosted patrols around Paddock Gardens to reassure residents.
