A woman was rushed to hospital in stable condition after allegedly consuming a suspected corrosive liquid at a Kennington address on Walworth Road.
The drama unfolded at 11:30am on Saturday, January 25, when the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service (LAS), and London Fire Brigade (LFB) were called to the incident.
Authorities quickly sealed off the area with road closures and cordons while specialist officers and firefighters handled the hazardous situation.

“Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 11.30am to reports of a woman having drunk a suspected corrosive liquid at an address in Walworth Road, Kennington,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.
“Safety procedures and cordons, as well as road closures, were established while specialist officers and LFB dealt with the incident.”
“The woman was taken to hospital by LAS, where her condition is stable.”
“Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing. There have been no arrests.”
