Child Dies in Horrific Car Crash on Kendal Rugby Pitch

A young child has tragically lost their life after a shocking collision involving a vehicle and two children on a rugby pitch in Kendal.

Emergency crews rushed to Kendal Rugby Union Football Club on Shap Road at around 5pm today. Witnesses reported a black BMW i40 on the pitch at the time of the incident.

One child died at the scene while a second remains in hospital receiving medical care.

Driver Arrested in Deadly Collision

Police arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Specialists are still investigating the tragic crash, and the families of both children have been informed.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Authorities say the incident is isolated with no terror links. A police cordon is in place while forensic teams comb the scene.
