Laurence Fox Charged Over Non-Consensual Image
Ex-Actor Faces Sexual Offence Charge
Laurence Fox, once a familiar face on film and TV, is now in the legal spotlight. The 46-year-old political activist has been charged by the Metropolitan Police for allegedly posting a sexual image without consent.
The charge, under Section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003, relates to sharing intimate images intended to cause distress or humiliation.
Controversial Image Sparks Police Probe
The image, posted on social media in April 2024, reportedly shows TV presenter Narinder Kaur, 52, exiting a taxi back in 1996. Kaur has waived her right to anonymity, saying the photo was taken and shared without her knowledge or approval.
She described feeling “violated, humiliated and degraded” after the image went public. Her complaint led to an 11-month Met Police investigation.
Fox to Face Court Next Month
Fox is due at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 24 April, where he is expected to enter a plea. If found guilty, he could serve up to two years in prison and be placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
Fox Claims Political Plot, Vows to Fight
The Met confirmed the charge in a statement to Sky News:
A man has been charged with a sexual offence following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police. Laurence Fox, 46, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 24 April charged with an offence contrary to section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003. The charge relates to an image that was posted on a social media platform in April 2024.”
Fox, who previously faced a £180,000 libel payout, hit back on social media (X), branding the charge “politically motivated.”
“This is yet another deeply concerning example of the two-tier British ‘justice’ system in all its Soviet glory,” he wrote. “I will deal with this untrue, ridiculous, vexatious and malicious nonsense just like last time they tried it on.”
He closed with a defiant rallying cry: “Fight! Fight! Fight!”
