Child Hit by Bus Outside Margate Hospital Sparks Major Emergency
Chaos Outside QEQM Hospital
A major emergency response kicked off this afternoon after a child was struck by a bus right outside Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (QEQM) Hospital in Margate.
Kent Police were called to Ramsgate Road just after 4pm on Thursday, 7 August 2025, following reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a bus.
Police cars, ambulance crews, and an air ambulance rushed to the scene. Witnesses described chaotic moments as officers directed traffic away from the hospital’s main entrance and shut nearby roads.

Ramsgate Road is closed in both directions. Drivers are urged to find alternative routes. Access to the hospital car park is also blocked, adding to the disruption.
An air ambulance was seen landing at the scene shortly after the crash, but the child’s condition has not been confirmed.
