Bomb Hoaxer Jailed for Threatening Heathrow, St Pancras and Scotland Yard
Paul Fisher’s Bomb Threat Spree
Paul Fisher, 61, from St Peters Path, Oadby, has been locked up for over five years after making a string of terrifying bomb hoax calls to England’s busiest transport hubs and public venues. Between April and May 2025, Fisher dialled police forces across the UK with false claims of explosives planted at some of the country’s most high-profile locations.
Fake Threats Target Major Sites
On 5 May alone, Fisher rang the Metropolitan Police three times, naming Heathrow Airport, St Pancras railway station, and Scotland Yard as bomb targets. He also called West Midlands Police to allege a bomb was at Birmingham Airport and warned Leicestershire Police about a device in a London hotel.
His bomb threats weren’t just limited to big cities. Fisher made multiple calls to regional police forces, including two to Lincolnshire Police threatening to blow up pubs in Boston and Lincoln, and another to Humberside Police claiming a bomb was at a Hull police station.
Guilty Plea and Heavy Sentence
Fisher pleaded guilty at leicester/" title="Leicester" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Leicester Magistrates’ Court on 7 May to:
- Eight counts of bomb hoax – communicating false information
- Three counts of causing wasteful employment of police resources
- One count of threatening to destroy or damage property
On Monday 11 August, Leicester Crown Court sentenced him to five years and two months in prison.
Police Warn of Serious Consequences
Authorities slammed Fisher’s actions, stressing that bomb hoaxes waste vital police time and emergency resources. They also cause widespread disruption and panic, taking focus away from real threats.
